greenwich-town-hall-3

The next meeting for Greenwich Call to Action is Monday, March 13 from 7 to 8 in the Greenwich Town Hall Meeting Room, 101 Field Point Rd., will be a timely discussion on the state of refugees and immigrants in the state of Connecticut and impact Trump’s executive immigration orders have had on them.

In 2016, 85,000 refugees were invited to enter the U.S and approximately 500 came to Connecticut. These refugees are then shelter, assimilated, given access to healthcare and language training all thru three agencies within Connecticut. Leaders from two of those agencies will be speaking at Town Hall next Monday; Claudia Connor, President & CEO of IIConn – International Institute of Connecticut and Chris George Executive Director of IRIS – Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services)

They will discuss how their agencies have been affected since Trump’s Jan. 27 executive order on Immigration and wether Trumps second edition to the executive order which came out this past Monday is good or bad news.

Greenwich Call to Action will be hosted by Trish Hussey and is a non-partisan group whose vision is to educate and activate local citizens on topical issues affecting our town and state. All are welcome. For more information or to RSVP, email GreenwichCallToAction@gmail.com
