Greenwich Hospital will mark national American Heart Month with a series of month-long events that range from supporting National Wear Red Day on Friday, Feb. 3 to the annual Heart Health and Stroke Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

The free Heart Health and Stroke Fair will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. in the hospital’s Noble Conference Center at 5 Perryridge Rd. Educators, pharmacists, dietitians, holistic practitioners and other healthcare professionals will be on hand to answer questions about prevention, risk factors and treatment options for heart conditions. National Wear Red Day, held the first Friday in February, raises awareness about health disease being the leading cause of death for women.

“Our goal is to keep people heart healthy and have the state-of-the-art resources available when the need for acute cardiac care arises,” said Norman G. Roth, president of Greenwich Hospital, who noted that heart disease is the nation’s leading cause of death for both men and women.

Greenwich Hospital provides a comprehensive range of specialized cardiac services, including screening, prevention, emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation. Resources include a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory for interventional procedures such as primary angioplasty to the opening last year of the Yale New Haven Health Women’s Cardiovascular Center at 15 Valley Dr. in Greenwich.

In addition to the Heart Health and Stroke Fair, Greenwich Hospital will offer the following public lecture:
