UPDATED: Saturday, Jan. 7 at 1:20 p.m.: Today the Town of  Greenwich looks a lot different than it did 24 hours ago, and feels it as well, as snow and bitter cold cover the area.

The National Weather Service, based in Upton, N.Y. says that the snow you see today will continue throughout the evening and will end in the overnight hours.

Today snow accumulation in Greenwich is expected to be anywhere between two to four inches. Obviously travel conditions throughout the day will be impacted by the weather, so use caution if you have to trek outdoors. Both sidewalks and road will be slippery, and possibly impassable. The Greenwich Department of Transportation will be working throughout the day and evening and do what it does best, keeping the town safe.

While the snow will pile up today, the temperatures will plummet, so take extreme caution is venturing outdoors today and especially tonight. Today’s high is only expected to reach 23 degrees, with wind chills making it feel like 10 to 15 degrees.

Tonight will be much worse, as the thermometer will only reach 16 degrees. The wind chill value will be between zero and 10 degrees.
