GHS Seniors Win Westfair Singers Scholarship

The Westfair Singers have named two Greenwich High School Seniors as 2016 Prize Winners in their annual Scholarship Competition supporting musically gifted, female high school vocalists and instrumentalists. Brittany Cleary, a flutist, earned 1st Place to receive the Judith Hahnssen-Schwab Founder’s Scholarship and its $500 Prize. Paige Edmonds, a soprano, earned 2nd Place to receive the President’s Award and its $250 Prize.

Edmonds will be introduced when the Westfair Singers present “In Dulci Jubilo,” a Christmas celebration under the direction of Mary Jane Newman, on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at South Salem Presbyterian Church, 111 Spring St., South Salem, N.Y. Additional highlights will be the debut of a new arrangement of Dr. Anthony Newman’s work, For Unto Us a Child Is Born, accompanied by the celebrated composer and organist, and the women’s choral ensemble singing music by Handel and Britten and Christmas carols arranged by John Rutter and David Willcocks.
