Refurbished Mac Laptops Arrive at Computer SuperCenter

Savvy tech shoppers need not leave Greenwich to get what they need this holiday season. They need only make a simple trip to Computer SuperCenter, at 103 Mason Street.

A shipment of refurbished MacBook Air computers awaits those who visit the showroom, says General Manager Jonathan Gould.

“They’re crazy good,” he said of the computers. “They’ve been very, very popular.”

Refurbished laptops are perfect for those who want to give a computer for Christmas with all the excitment of a new laptop but without the same financial investment.

Gould added that the MacBook Airs support the latest Apple operating system, known as Sierra, and have at least six months of Apple Care that can be extended for another year.

“We can do data migrations,” Gould added, meaning that existing data on another computer can be transferred to the refurbished MacBooks. Plus, he explained, all warranty work, if necessary, can be done in their service department.

“They’re about two and a half years old,” he said. They’re going to have either a 128GB or 256GB solid state drive. They’ve got the latest i5 processors, 4GB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cameras, great battery life.”

Gould said that the store had a busy weekend following Black Friday and leading into Cyber Monday.

Small businesses are looking to draw consumers in, and one way they do that is with AmEx’s Small Business Saturday, which Gould said happened last weekend, though rewards will be available through December.

“It gives anyone that comes in multiple reward points back when you use your AmEx card,” he said.

A look around the store reveals a large selection of new electronics as well, with top brand names like Bose, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, and Sonos adding to the Apple products that Gould highlighted. The outgoing Gould leads a staff that can answer any questions for the technically challenged as well as the expert.

Of course, sales is just part of what they offer. A fully staffed service center can help with IT support both in-store and onsite. Their website—computersupercenter.com—is loaded with information, and Gould says that they can troubleshoot most problems within one hour. They are Microsoft and Apple authorized experts, and promise they can fix any device, with no appointment necessary.

Another important part of any technology is that it must feel safe—and computer SuperCenter can help with that, too. Their sister company, Lighthouse Technology Partners, specializes in combating cyber threats.

Gould also stressed the need to be comfortable at a workstation. To that end, Computer SuperCenter carries the X-Chair, which the company describes as “not your grandfather’s office chair.” The chairs are on display in the showroom for customers to try out, with a dynamic variable lumbar support and adjustable backrests being among the enticing ergonomic features.

“X-Chairs are very hot,” Gould said. “People are coming from all over because we have the X-Chairs in stock, and we have them to test drive. Apparently no one else does.”

Computer SuperCenter will be open with regular hours throughout the holiday season; it is closed on Sundays.
