Greenwich Symphony to Feature Strauss Horn Concerto

The Horn Concerto No. 1 in E-Flat Major of Richard Strauss will have top billing for the Greenwich Symphony’s second concert of the season, on Nov. 19 and 20. Peter Reit, the Symphony’s principal French horn player, will take on the solo lead for this performance. Reit also plays principal horn with the Westchester Philharmonic and Scandia Symphony Orchestras. The program will also include the Symphony No. 9 of Shostakovich and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 6.

The concert will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m., and repeat Sunday, Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. at the new Performing Arts Center at Greenwich High School, 10 Hillside Rd. A free pre-concert lecture will be given one hour before each performance.
