Irish pianist to perform with Greenwich Symphony

The Greenwich Symphony brings back Irish pianist John O’Conor Oct. 1 and 2 to perform the beloved Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4. O’Conor has gathered wonderful reviews over the course of his career since winning first prize at the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna in 1973. He last played with the Greenwich Symphony in 2008. Also on the program are Mozart’s Divertimento, K.131, and Stravinsky’s Danses Concertantes.

 The concerts will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. at the new Performing Arts Center at Greenwich High School, 10 Hillside Rd. A free pre-concert lecture will be given one hour before each performance. Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for students.
