On Monday, Sept. 19, Peter Tesei, First Selectman of Greenwich, presented a proclamation to River House in honor of National Adult Day Services Week.

Tesei said, “Thank you for all that you do here, it’s never said enough, so thank you.”

The proclamation, followed by an Ice Cream Social delighted River House clients, especially Lucille who exclaimed, “I like all the things we do at River House and I’m excited for all of the programs this week. I enjoyed Peter Tesei’s visit very much.“

River House is proud to join the thousands of adult day centers across the country celebrating National Adult Day Services Week, September 18-24. The week, proclaimed by former President Ronald Reagan on Sept. 27, 1983, was meant to create awareness about the accessibility and availability of adult day care programs nationwide.

The First Selectman’s proclamation is one event of many helping River House clients mark the occasion. The Serendipity Chorale will perform on Tuesday and clients will expect a visit from their friends at the Animal Embassy on Thursday. The week will near its end with the Annual Family BBQ, on Friday, Sept. 23 in which families and caregivers are invited to join in the fun.
