The Greenwich Choral Society elected new members to its Board of Directors at its recent Annual Meeting to guide the ensemble for its 2016-17 season. Performances for the coming year include Schubert’s Mass in G Major with the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, Vivaldi’s Gloria with the Stamford Symphony Orchestra, Bizet’s Te Deum and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria (Kyrie and Gloria) in addition to the popular December Concerts (this year with brass, harp and percussion) that usher in the holidays.

In the coming weeks Paul Mueller, Music Director, will be conducting auditions for singers interested in joining the Choral Society. Those interested may call Bill Fulton at 203-322-2990 or e-mail cbful@snet.net to schedule a time.

An Open Sing has been scheduled for Sept. 13 from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, Old Greenwich, so that people who would like to ”check out” the Chorus before auditioning can participate in a rehearsal.

The Greenwich Choral Society, a not-for-profit membership-based organization primarily serving Fairfield and Westchester, N.Y. counties is dedicated to excellence in the presentation of choral music, offering avocational singers of all ages and backgrounds an opportunity to learn more about music and to raise their voices in excellent company under professional direction. The Greenwich Choral Society has consistently explored and interpreted the beauty and influence of choral music. GCS strives to enrich our community’s appreciation of music through performances of the highest quality and educational programs that seek to nurture future singers and audiences alike.
