The Abilis Community Foundation generously awarded a $10,000 grant to the YMCA of Greenwich to develop a new swimming program for children with special needs Beginning this fall, the course will teach basic water safety and swimming concepts to children with disabilities and their caregivers.

The program will utilize the YMCA’s warm water historic pool to introduce fundamental water skills, stroke development with waterside safety and prevention skills for caregivers. As a leading nonprofit committed to youth development, the YMCA of Greenwich has been a leader in providing swim lessons and water safety in Greenwich for more than 100 years.
