Chamber Players to hold ‘Spring Musicale’ fund-raiser concert

Wayne duMaine, trumpeter, will perform at the popular “Spring Musicale,” the much anticipated annual fund-raiser hosted by The Chamber Players of the Greenwich Symphony on Sunday, June 12 at 5 p.m., in the auditorium of Audubon Greenwich, 613 Riversville Road.

DuMaine performed with the Chamber Players in their April concerts. He will play once again pieces by Fasch, Gershwin and Martinů, the latter’s composition, La Revue de Cuisine, being a romp that musically depicts the mischievous antics and romances of the cookware “after hours.” The Fasch is a Baroque work. Gershwin comes with a surprise, in that Mr. du Maine, with apparent ease, plays both the trumpet and piano at the same time. Seven Chamber Players will also be on hand, playing short selections, which will preview their 45th season in 2016-’17.

A festive champagne buffet will follow, weather permitted, in the outdoor terrace. For reservations, call 203-637-4725. Tickets start at $100.
