While the hot summer temperatures have finally arrived, there are still residents who have yet to register for their beach, park and tennis access passes. Passes are required from May 2 through October 31; and even if you had one last year, you must renew them every year with proof of residence.

Residents who had have their passes from last season can simply renew theirs online at www.greenwichct.org/webtrac and upload all the necessary documentation.

But Greenwich residents who have not had a pass before, or our new to the community, must complete the application, which is available at Town Hall (Parks & Recreation on the 2nd Floor) or can be easily accessed online at greewnichct.org.

Each household member, 25 years and older, must submit two proofs of residency stating your legal name and Greenwich address, but one application can be used for the entire family. For children, one must provide a birth certificate, passport, or proof of guardianship.

In addition to a park pass, a parking sticker is required for all vehicles. There are fees associated with registration and vary depending on age.  Seniors 65 and older are free; adults are $33; kids from ages 4 to 15 are $6 and kids under the age of 4 do not require a pass.

Hours for processing applications are Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at Town Hall, but be prepared to wait, because ‘tis the season and the lines are long. Have your completed documentation, proofs of residency and check in hand to make the process go smoother and faster. Please note that beach passes will be mailed to your residence approximately one to two weeks after the date of registration.

For residents who have out of town family members and friends who want just a day at the beach, you can purchase single entry passes (up to 5 passes per day). These single entry passes can be purchased Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center and at the Western Greenwich Civic Center from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fees are $7 for ages 5 to 64, free for ages 65 and older, plus a parking fee of $35.

Visit www.greenwichct.org for an application today and soak up the rays.
