Greenwich High Girls Golf Upends Warde on Senior Day

On a gorgeous Senior Day, the Greenwich High School girls golf team took to the Griffith E. Harris Golf Course and upended Fairfield Warde High School 172-188 Thursday afternoon.

As a team, Big Red finished with a nine-hole total of 172, the lowest team score this season at The Griff

Playing on The Griff, a par 37 nine-hole course, GHS was led by Catherine McEvoy, who hit a blistering 3-under par 34 on the day. Her score of 34 was a new Greenwich High School record for The Griff.

Ashley Feighery wasn’t far behind, as she had a strong showing and grabbed a 3-over par 40 on the day.

Tess Lamhaouar also had a solid performance, carding a 8-over par 45. Rounding out the four golfers for GHS was Gracie Sunoo, who ended the day with a 53.

For the Mustangs, Mia Gramesty had a stellar outing, finishing with a 7-over par 44. In addition, Nadia Caputo took home a 9-over par 46, while Emily Healy finished two shots away from Caputo.

Erica de la Garrigue rounded out the day for Fairfield and carded a 50.

With the win, GHS improved to 12-1 on the season while Fairfield Warde fell to 10-4.
