Although the Sacred Heart Greenwich lacrosse team tell to Taft School Saturday in overtime during its regular season finale, Sacred Heart head coach Tara Clough saw plenty of positives heading into Monday’s FAA tournament.

“We finished the game playing some of the best team defense we have played all season,” Clough said. “I am really proud of the girls ability to focus, step up their game and improve their level of communication.”

Leading the way for the Tigers against Taft was Ryan Smith, who finished with four goals and two assists. The duo of Haley Horn and Grace Paletta took home two goals and one assist, while Charlie Clark added one goal and four draw controls and Mae Briody grabbed a goal and two assists.

In net, Maddie McLane ended the day with six saves.

Up next for the Tigers will be a rematch with Greens Farms Academy. The last time Sacred Heart played the Dragons, it was GFA at home getting the 13-12 victory in the final seconds.
