Sandra Morgan Interiors & SM Home Gallery announced its Summer 2016 Art Show, “Color Field Artists 2016,” which runs through June 25. There will be an Opening Cosmo Cocktail Reception on Thursday, May 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with an Artist Talk at 6:30 p.m.
The show features regional artists Katherine Evans, Barbara Sussberg and Rachel Volpone. Color Field painting is back and contemporary artists are looking to Helen Frankenthaler, Mark Rothko and Morris Louis for inspiration. These three regional abstract artists are paying homage to the genre with their expressive use of color in large fields that envelope the viewer while lifting their spirits.
