Sacred Heart Greenwich Lax Outlasts Holy Child 12-10 Monday

The Sacred Heart Greenwich lacrosse team is making its push towards the postseason. Monday afternoon the Tigers kept things going in the right direction by upending School of the Holy Child 12-10.

Leading the way for Sacred Heart was Grace Paletta, who finished with four goals, three assists and four draw controls. The duo of Mae Briody and Haley Horn pitched in with two goals and two assists, while Sammy Clark netted a goal and an assist. Ryan Smith grabbed two goals, while Charlie Clark pitched in with one goal.

In net, Maddie McLane had an outstanding game, finishing with 13 saves on the day. Athena Corroon had three caused turnovers and came up with three key draw control possessions in the second half to help key the victory.

“We transitioned the ball well and executed our offensive strategies successfully today,” Sacred Heart head coach Tara Clough said. “We will continue to work on 50/50 ground balls and draw control possessions this week. We look forward to competitive games with Millbrook and Taft this week before heading to the FAA tournament.”
