Greenwich Softball Narrowly Defeated by Norwalk, 9-8

It was a hard-fought defeat for the Greenwich High School softball team Wednesday afternoon, as they were upended by Norwalk High School 9-8.

The Bears were trailing heading into the bottom of the seventh inning before the scored four time in the frame to claim the victory. Greenwich scored its runs with three in the first, one in the fourth and four more in the sixth inning.

Leading the way for Big Red was Julie Gambino, who finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Not to be outdone was Katelyn Grimes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs batted in. Sami Scordo went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Julia Greco finished 2-for-4.

GHS pitcher Sophia Prieto ended the day with one strikeout and six walks.
