Beam & Barre will have a grand opening for its new location in Cos Cob on Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The grand opening will be a party for all ages with pointe shoe decorating, dress up, face painting, story time and giveaways. The dance, gymnastics, skating and yoga apparel store has just recently relocated from Greenwich Avenue to East Putnam Avenue in Cos Cob.
The store’s owner, Cara Milo, is excited for everyone to see the new space. Not only does the new location carry all the necessary items dancers and gymnasts need, the new space also features an area for parties and arts and crafts. The grand opening will be a sneak peek to what a children’s birthday party can be. The fairytale inspired party room features a hand painted whimsical mural designed a painted by local artist and store manager, Gretchen Kraus, who said, “We’re looking forward to hosting many kinds of parties from a princess themed tea party to pointe shoe decorating parties!”
There will also be great sales on Saturday that everyone can take advantage of, as well as contests and prizes.
Beam & Barre has been the premiere dancewear store in Greenwich for over 30 years. Milo and her staff are looking forward to serving the community for another 30 years in their new location. “Ultimately, our goal is to not only have everything that someone might need for their dance or gymnastics classes but to become a place where we can broaden the sense of dance community,” she said. “We’re all dancers here and we want to share our knowledge and experience and learn from our customers too.”
