Astronomical Society holds Observatories Lecture

On Sunday, April 17, at 3:30 p.m., the Astronomical Society of Greenwich will present Dr. Grant Tremblay in “The Symmetrical Universe: A Tour of the Cosmos as revealed by NASA’s Great Observatories.”

He will discuss the four space-borne observatories launched 1990- 2003 to conduct overlapping astronomical studies over different wavelengths. Dr. Tremblay will talk about the remarkable wealth of knowledge and insight gained from NASA’s Great Observatories, and plans for future research missions.

Dr. Grant Tremblay is an observational astrophysicist and NASA Einstein Fellow at Yale University. He was previously a Fellow at the European Southern Observatory (ESO), an astronomer at ESO’s Very Large Telescope in Chile, and a researcher at the Space Telescope Science Institute, the operational center for the Hubble Space Telescope.

The lecture takes place at the Bruce Museum, 1 Museum Drive and is open to the public. Admission is free to museum members and ticket holders, and others by donation. For more information, visit astrogreenwich.org
