The YMCA of Greenwich Marlins dive team recently competed at the 2016 YMCA National Diving Championship in Coral Springs, Fla.

Out of the 10 teams participating in the event, the Marlins placed third overall, second in Women’s and third in Men’s. In total, the team brought home a whopping 23 medals.

The team was paced by Greenwich resident James Hopper, 16, who had a strong showing. He placed second on 1-meter and was golden on both the 3-meter and on platform.

“It was a great weekend for the Marlins,” team coach Dylan Korn said. “Everyone put in a lot of hard work leading up to nationals and we’re very proud of how everyone performed.”
