The Greens at Greenwich is partnering with Greenwich Woods for “Conversations for Baby Boomers,” a seminar series that will explore life after 50. The seminars will be held on Wednesdays, 9 and 16 and will begin at 6 p.m. with a light dinner followed by a speaker at 6:30 p.m.

The series kicks off Wednesday, March 9 with “Your Story Matters: Tell It!,” and will be led by Maria Scaros-Mercado, the Executive Director at The Greens at Greenwich. Her credentials include a license as a Creative Arts Therapist, a board certified trainer in drama therapy and a Certified Clinical Interfaith Chaplain. Maria’s passion as a drama therapist and chaplain is utilizing story and role-play. She finds that allowing persons to explore their role repertoire and to tell their story out loud is validating and life affirming. It is a gift not only to the teller but to the receiver.

Recently Ancestry.com has received a lot of press. People are even ordering DNA kits to find out where exactly their story began. Maria states, “The question is not why tell your story but rather, why not. Our stories are full of moments that have defined who we have become and challenged our moral compass. Perhaps we need a life review.” This interactive program will explore story in general and your story specifically and how, in your own personal style, you can share it with those who need to hear it most.

“How to Refresh your Communication Skills on the Internet” is the last seminar in the series and will be held Wednesday, March 16. Baby Boomers are interconnected and the Internet is changing lives in buying, selling, networking, managing finance and communications overall. This seminar will share the most effective way for you to do what you want to do on the Internet. The speaker is Cindy Wager-Meyer, Community Development Specialist, MicrosoftStore at The Westchester in White Plains. Practical tips to help you be savvy about using or not using various applications like FaceBook and LinkedIn will be explored. She will also talk about how one can avoid digital fraud and scams on the Internet and will answer the question, “Where and what is the Cloud?.” Attendees may bring their own technology devices if they have them. If not, they will be provided one.

The seminar series will be held at Greenwich Woods, 1165 King Street. They are free and open to the community, but registration is required; and anyone may attend all of the seminars or one.
