Tax Revaluation, Appeal Process Topic of GPOA Meeting

The Greenwich Property Owners Association (GPOA) will offer a meeting on “Understanding the Tax Revaluation and Appeal Process,” on Wednesday, March 2 at 8 a.m., at the River House Adult Day Center (upper level), 49 River Road, Cos Cob.

The speakers are:

Scott Kelland, President & CEO of Kelland Capital Management, Inc. Real Estate Development Consulting & Valuation Advisory Services. Projects have included the development of several multiunit condominium projects, master planned communities, golf course developments and custom estate home development.

Peter Trefny, licensed appraiser and Greenwich native who began his appraisal career in 1970. He has worked with many assessors over the years and has been a consultant to the Town as well as an appraiser and adviser on behalf of property owners. He is an advocate for equitable assessments based on realistic market value whether his client is the Town of an individual property owner.

Together, they will help to explain the factors that go into formulating these values and answer questions about valuation and the Board of Assessment Appeals process.
