Coming off a loss to St. Luke’s on Friday, the Brunswick basketball team got back on track Monday as they beat Rye Country Day School 50-33 at home.

Led by Nacho Nwana’s team-high 14 points and nine rebounds, the Bruins cruised to the victory as Will Marvin added 12 points — all scored in the second half — of his own to top the Wildcats. Nwana, who passed the 1000 point milestone on Friday, went 4-for-8 from the free throw line and hit a late 3-pointer to all but secure a second-half blowout.

“I think we played a lot more confidently and I think we came out a little less nervous compared to Monday night,” Nwana said following the game.

As a team, the Bruins went 7-for-22 from behind the arc, including a pair of three pointers from Cam Kelly, who finished with eight points.

Brunswick (5-10, 4-4) will visit Greens Farms Academy on Wednesday before taking on King School at home on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
