On Saturday, the Brunswick School squash team swept Taft 7-0 for the second time this season, this time on the home courts of the Stephens Squash Center. The Bruins (8-0) collected their sixth shut-out victory in the process.
Brunswick wraps-up its regular season with two matches at Taft, playing the hosts for a third time and Choate for the second time on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 2:30 p.m.
Nationals and New England Championship competitions follow later in the month.
Both seniors Andrew Monroe and Boden Polikoff have perfect 8-0 records, while sophomore Patrick Feeley is 7-0 for Brunswick. Additionally, junior Tyler Carney and sophomores Max Finkelstein and Will Holey are undefeated at 6-0. The Bruins No. 1 seed, senior David Yacobucci, bumped his record to 6-2.
Against Taft, Yacobucci came away with the 3-1 (11-3, 11-8, 9-11, 11-3) victory, while No. 2 Carney won 3-0 (11-3, 11-3, 11-6). At No. 3 was Monroe and he was victorious 3-1 (10-12, 11-3, 11-1, 11-3).
Not to be outdone was No. 4 Finkelstein, who swept his competition 3-0 (11-0, 11-3, 11-0). Also coming away with the 3-0 win was No. 5 Patrick Feeley (11-2, 11-1, 11-6). Having an easy time was No. 6 Boden Polikoff, who also won 3-0 (11-4, 11-3, 11-2).
Rounding out the day was Will Holey at No. 7, who kept the good times rolling with a 3-0 (11-0, 11-3, 11-5) win.
