Palma Catherine Sudo passed away on Jan. 14, with her family by her side. She was 87 years old.

Palma was born in Stamford on Palm Sunday, April 1, 1928, the daughter of Domenic and Catherine Annetta.

She worked in her family’s small grocery store until her marriage in 1955 to Stanley (Stash) Sudo, when she moved to Greenwich. Known as Pam to her friends, she and Stash were avid gardeners of vegetables, flowers and a stunning grape vine. Each season, crops were generously shared with friends and family.

Pam also sold real estate in Greenwich and had been an active member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of the Richmond Park Republican Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, both in Stamford.

In addition to her loving husband, Pam was predeceased by her parents; her siblings Frank Annetta, Antoinette (Toni) Conetta, and Filomena (Mamie) Cerreta; and her beloved nephews Salvatore Annetta and Louis Michael Cerreta.

She is survived by niece Catherine Cerreta Tynes, her husband Jeffrey Tynes, and grand-nephew Michael Frederick Tynes. She is also survived by nephews Domenic Annetta (Shelly), John Annetta (Kathleen), niece Catherine Annetta, grandnieces Laura Scollard Starkey and Lisa Annetta, and by many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make contributions in Palma’s name to the Friends of Witherell at Nathaniel Witherell Nursing home in Greenwich, where Palma found the care and comfort of a second family, or to PAWS of Norwalk to honor her great love of all animals.

Visitation will be held today, Jan. 22, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Road No. 3, Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held tomorrow at St. Mary’s Church, 178 Greenwich Ave., at 10 a.m., and burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, 399 North Street.
