The Staff and Friends of the Cos Cob Library host “Downton Abbey: Fashion and Social Change Talk and Tea” on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 11 a.m., in the Community Room of the Cos Cob Library.
Cos Cob Library welcomes Susan Jerome, the Collections Manager at the University of Rhode Island Historic Textile and Costume Collection, who will speak on changes in fashion during the time period depicted in Downton Abbey. This program will demonstrate how fashion trends were influenced by social, political and technological changes in the early 20th century.
Please register for this event in person or by calling the library at 203-622-6883. A selection of tea and light refreshments will be available. People are invited to dress in the period or don a favorite hat. Remember to bring your favorite teacup, too.
