Heading the sixth annual Greenwich Town Party will be Rock and Rock Hall of Fame inductees Daryl Hall and John Oates for the all-day family music festival planned for Saturday, May 28. Grammy award winners John Fogerty and Tedeschi Trucks Band will also perform.

Roger Sherman Baldwin will once again play host to the 12-hour event. Celebrating our sixth year, its simply wonderful that we can have a huge, day-long community event for the Town of Greenwich to come together, listen to music from award-winning artists, and enjoy every moment with family and friends, said GTP Event Manager Scot Weicker. Since the Greenwich Town Party Neighbor Tickets are coveted, they make terrific holiday gifts.

Held annually on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, the GTP brings multiple generations of Greenwich residents together to celebrate town pride and the spirit of giving through live music, local food favorites and family-fun activities.

Its another remarkable headlining band for the Greenwich Town Party, Weicker said. For six straight years, weve had Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees performing at the Greenwich Town Party.”

From the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, the Daryl Hall and John Oates scored six number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including Rich Girl, Kiss on My List, Private Eyes, I Cant Go For That (No Can Do), Maneater and Out of Touch from their six consecutive multi-platinum albums. By 1987, the Record Industry Association of America recognized Daryl Hall and John Oates as the number-one selling duo in music history, a record they still hold today.

John Fogerty is widely considered a national treasure—one of rock musics all-time great singers, guitar players and songwriters. The Grammy winner rose to fame as leader of the popular band Creedence Clearwater Revival, which earned him worldwide acclaim. Over his successful four-plus-decade career, he has written many of popular musicmost timeless standards, including Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, Born On The Bayou, and Wholl Stop The Rain.

Hailed as a deeply skilled groove machine by The Los Angeles Times, Tedeschi Trucks Band is a 12-piece modern roots tour-de-force, led by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. After successful solo careers, Tedeschi and Trucks joined forces in 2010 and have quickly become well known for their legendary live performances, original songwriting and award-winning albums. Their debut album, Revelator, won a Grammy Award for Best Blues Album in 2012.

Returning this year is the GTP Town Stage, which will feature six local bands to round out the days performances. Created to celebrate the diverse and abundant talent within the Greenwich community, the Town Stage application is open to Greenwich residents of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels.

The local stage will again have local bands on the local town stage, Weicker said. That application process is open now and Greenwich residents can apply online. Last year, we had over 50 submissions from Greenwich residents and local bands. It made the decision to get down to just five or six of them very difficult.
