Brunswick’s Perimeter Game Key in Victory Against Masters

The Brunswick School basketball team combined 18 assists with a dozen three-pointers in a 69-62 road win over Masters on Tuesday.

The Bruins (2-2) never trailed in the contest inside the new facility for the Panthers.

As a team, Brunswick pulled out to a 17-point first half cushion before the Panthers trimmed it to a 35-25 advantage at the break.

The Brunswick lead expanded in the early minutes of the second half, as the visitors held a double-digit advantage until the final minute of the game. Full court pressure by the hosts in the waning minutes resulted in turnovers and easy baskets, as the Panthers trimmed the Brunswick lead to four points.

Senior Nacho Nwana led all scorers in the game, pumping in 25 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field, including three 3-pointers, while dishing out five assists.

Not to be outdone was junior Will Marvin, who netted 14 points, highlighted by 4-for-5 shooting from behind the arc, while classmate Cam Kelly passed out a team-high six assists and three steals. Sophomore Graham Pierce netted a trio of trifectas on his way to 13 points.

Brunswick stays on the road for its next contest, a 6 p.m. match-up at King later today.
