Instead of this Brunswick bus being packed with students, it’s full of food donations for Family Centers.

“We are kicking off our holiday going at Family Centers by partnering with the Brunswick School. We are starting to collect our annual Thanksgiving baskets for our clients,” said Jen Flatow of Family Centers.

Family Centers has been working with Brunswick School since 2009 and this is part of the school’s annual community service project. The baskets will be distributed to families in need in Greenwich and Stamford.

“Their names have been submitted by the folks they work with at Family Centers to ensure they are stocked up for the long holiday weekend,” said Flatow.

The bags are stuffed with items like non-perishable canned goods, dessert, mac n cheese, and apple juice.

“The goal isn’t just to feed the family on Thanksgiving, the goal is to send families home over the long weekend with extras just to stock up. There are still families struggling in our community,” said Flatow.

Family Centers is also looking for food donations for the upcoming Christmas holiday. If you would like to donate, visit www.familycenters.org for more information.
