The Brunswick School soccer team ended the regular season Saturday with a 2-1 loss up at Westminster School.

The Bruins got on the board in the 15th minute, when Nick Boardman deposited a goal into the back of the Westminster net following a nice pass from Will Sands along the end line.

The score went from 1-0 in our favor to 2-1 for Westminster in a little over a five minute span midway through the second half. The first goal took place on a pass through our defense that ended up on the foot of a Westminster striker for a one-time finish past goalkeeper Wil Salomon. The second goal took place on a header following a free kick from 25 yards out.

James Sands, Sal Lopez and Dante Polvera all had great scoring chances throughout the match, but couldn’t add another tally to the scoreboard for us.

Salomon made seven saves in the losing effort. Despite the loss, Brunswick School is still hopeful to get a bid for the New England tournament starting next week.
