Indoor Softball Registration Set to Begin Nov. 12

The Department of Parks and Recreation announces that registration for Indoor Softball will begin online for Greenwich residents only on Nov. 12.

To register online go to Greenwichct/webtrac and select “Activity Registration.” Mail-in registration begins Nov. 16. Mail-in registration should not be postmarked earlier than Nov. 16. In-person registration begins Nov. 30 and registration remains open until the program is filled.

Space is limited and registration is first come, first serve. Residents must provide proof of residency if not yet provided this year.

The indoor softball clinic will take place at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center on Harding Road in Old Greenwich on Saturdays.

The program is available for ages seven through 14. Participants ages seven- to 10-years-old will meet from 11 a.m. to noon, while 11- to 14-year-olds will meet from 12 to 1 p.m.

Participants must be seven-years-old on or before Dec. 31, 2015 and not be turning 15 during the program.

Returning softball director, Rob Kach and instructors will teach the key fundamentals including throwing, catching, hitting, pitching, stealing and sliding to prepare for the spring and summer seasons.

Players interested in participating in the Greenwich Babe Ruth Softball League are encouraged to attend in preparation for the season. Registration for Greenwich Babe Ruth Softball opens on Dec. 7.

Indoor softball starts Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 and continues until March 5, with a built-in snow date of March 19.
