Douglas Elmendorf, former director of the Congressional Budget Office, will speak before the Retired Men’s Association of Greenwich next Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Christ Church, on 254 East Putnam Ave.

Those planning to attend should arrive at about 10:40 a.m. for coffee and cake; the talk begins at 11 a.m. Retired Men’s Association talks are free and open to the public.

Dr. Elmendorf led the CBO—the independent agency responsible for nonpartisan analysis—from 2009 to 2015. At the RMA event, he will discuss his experience and ideas, and suggest changes in spending and tax policies. A Q & A session will follow.

Other speakers in the RMA’s fall series include Chris Winters, headmaster of Greenwich High School (Nov. 18); Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy (Dec. 2); and Jim Bell, who executive produces the Olympics for NBC (Dec. 9).
