Letter: Rabin for BOE

lettertotheeditor

To the Editor:

We can debate the issues and priorities and the qualifications of candidates for the Greenwich Board of Education. But we should not debate that the best-qualified candidates should be elected to the BOE and serve the best interests of our children and our community.

Education is the most important external factor impacting the lives of our children and their futures. A BOE candidate must therefore demonstrate his or her competence and qualifications, and complement a composite set of BOE skills that exemplify the excellence in education that Greenwich demands.

Lauren Rabin is such a candidate, and I am proud to support her. She understands and is committed to individual and lifelong learning. A graduate of the Greenwich school system, as are her children; a corporate trainer; and a consistent contributor to many volunteer and town government Boards (RTM-Finance, Board of Social Services, PTA, GYFL) resonate with competence, compassion, collaboration and common sense. Join me in voting for Lauren Rabin.
