Master Chefs Cook For Diabetes Awareness Month

The American Diabetes Association “Change the Future” chef event at Greenwich Country Club held on Nov. 3, will kick off November’s Diabetes Awareness Month. Master chefs will prepare a unique and interactive multi-media farm-to-plate culinary experience through a live video feed from kitchen to the ballroom.

The evening’s master chefs: Marc Weber – has worked under nationally owned chefs including Todd English, Waldy Malouf, Jean Lois Gerin and Florian Huggo. Frederic Kieffer has received “Excellent” rating in the New York Times along with countless other awards and Rui Correia – is an ambassador for Portuguese wines, food, culture, and travel. He is a regular on the NBC’s TODAY Show and hosted dinner at the James Beard House. Bill Taibe – was a James Beard semi-finalist in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Edward Varipapa – has received numerous awards and recognition for his innovative cooking along with being a James Beard award-winning chef. Lisa and Stephen Maronian – have garnered local and national acclaim, prestigious awards, along with television and magazine appearances.

Special Guest George Mandes has numerous accolades from being one of Food & Wines “Best New Chefs” of 2011 to Bravo’s Top Master Chefs. George will be signing his newest cookbook My Portugal as a gift for guests. Victor Rallo, wine critic and TV personality and host of his own series called Eat! Drink! Italy! will be emceeing the evening.
