The Greenwich Police Department arrested 24-year-old Raymond Tejada of New York earlier this month after an ongoing series of high-end vehicle thefts in the area.

Police were able to arrest Tejada on six counts of first-degree larceny for the car thefts that included Range Rovers and a Bentley.

A significant lead in the case was opened up when Tejada and his brother were arrested for an attempted theft of a Range Rover on Greenwich Avenue in August.

With help from the New York Police Department, Greenwich detectives were able to observe, arrest and backtrack Tejada’s involvement in the year-long trend of vehicle thefts in the Greenwich area.

According to Lt. Kraig Gray, the stolen vehicles were often luxury cars that were unlocked and contained the keys inside. The GPD urges residents to always lock their car doors.
