Located in the Cos Cob Plaza on East Putnam Avenue is the brand new Mathnasium.
“You go to the gymnasium for your body and Mathnasium for your mind,” said owner David Lubner.
Mathnasium provides math instruction to students who need a little extra help understanding material in school, or who are not being challenged enough in school.
“It’s designed to come from a child’s point of view rather than an adult’s,” said Lubner.
Mathnasium is available to students of all ages. Students begin with an assessment to develop an individual learning plan, and owner David Lubner says improvement is seen usually within the first month.
“After just maybe two or three sessions, the child’s attitude about math changes,” said Lubner.
“It’s important to stimulate young minds, to get them attracted to learning,” said First Selectman Peter Tesei.
