Family Centers has just received a grant from the federal government, and officials say the money will be used for a new clinic at Wilber Peck Housing Complex.

“The clinic is going to start out with primary health care, so whatever physical needs people have, they will be able to turn to the clinic. We will also have dental care,” said Family Centers President and CEO Bob Arnold.

The grant from the Department of Health and Human Services totals just over $566,000 dollars, and the future clinic will be part of the Affordable Care Act.

“It’s regally important that everyone is abel to find the care they need when they need it. We think this will help a lot of people avoid unnecessary emergency room visits and things like that,” said Arnold.

Officials say construction should take about three months to complete once a contractor is found.
