It’s safe to say that no one is breaking any surprising news when saying that it’s hot outside.

According to the National Weather Service, the highs today throughout Greenwich will be close to 95 degrees and the temperature not getting that much cooler for the next several days.

Today’s 95-degree temperature, combined with the high dew point and humidity, will make it feel like the temperature is over 100 degrees. In addition, the National Weather Service has issued an Air Quality Alert for Greenwich and the entire Fairfield County area that will last until 11 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, an air quality alert means that ground level ozone may approach or exceed unhealthy standards. The Air Quality Index for today is predicted to be around 122, with 100 being the threshold for for moderate levels.

Tonight should be clear, but still very warm, with temperatures in the low to mid 70’s. Thursday isn’t going to be much better, as temperatures will hover close to 90 degrees, with a slight chance of thunderstorms.

While heavy rain is expected Thursday night, it won’t provide any relief from the heat, as Friday’s and Saturday’s temperatures will be around 90 degrees. Sunday will once again be mostly sunny, but temperatures in the upper 80’s.
