The Friends of Nathaniel Witherell has just presented the Town of Greenwich with a $1 million check to help offset the costs of Project Renew.

“It’s the most transformative appearance to this historical building. There are more single bedrooms which is what more and more people want. The really enormous change was the rehab center that doubled, almost tripled in sise,” said Debby Lash, Project Renew Co-Chair.

Project Renew is a public/private partnership between the Town and the Friends of Nathaniel Witherell. Over $9 million has been raised so far, and officials say they hope to raise another million in the upcoming year.

“The Town is very supportive of the elderly. We’ve had a very heartwarming response,” said Lash.

And renovations are still not complete. Officials say the spaces in the long-term care area will be renovated next year.
