The famous indie band Dispatch spread awareness for its campaign DISPATCH: HUNGER at the SoulCycle of Greenwich last Friday, July 3.

The band started DISPATCH: HUNGER to shed light on the hunger epidemic in America that often gets swung under the radar.

They are standing up for the belief that food is a basic human right and it is our job as a global community to increase the food and economic resources necessary for people to exercise that right.

SoulCycle hosted a charity ride where people could reserve tickets and cycle alongside the band. Bikes were reserved online for $75 and $50 a piece, and the proceeds went towards a variety of organizations that fight hunger in their own unique ways.

The recipients were the Center for Hunger-Free Communities, Witnesses to Hunger, the New York City Coalition Against Hunger, No Kid Hungry and Why Hunger.

Following the charity ride, the band and the participants went to local creperie Meli-Melo for fresh juices and smoothies. The band members took this time to talk more about their HUNGER campaign, and their core goal to make hunger visible in the United States.

Dispatch will hold its main event for DISPATCH: HUNGER at Madison Square Garden on July 10 and July 11, where they will bring awareness to this serious issue in front of a sold out crowd.
