The Greenwich Scholarship Association held the 43 annual

Scholarship Evening tonight at Greenwich High School. One
hundred and four awards were presented to 124 different
Greenwich High School seniors. Greenwich Schools’ Superintendent,
Dr. Bill McKersie spoke at the beginning of the event and
praised the work done by the Association.

“It’s the annual awards from the Greenwich Scholarship
Association, an independent organization here in Greenwich.
They provide quite substantial awards to our seniors at
Greenwich High School. This year it’s over half a million
dollars, almost $550 million. Many of the gifts are from
endowed funds, so it’s incredible generosity from Greenwich
families for Greenwich students,” said Dr. Bill McKersie.

Many of the scholarships are memorials to Greenwich High
School Alumni. David Hvolbeck presented one of those this evening.

“I’m here to present the Robert D’Elia Memorial Scholarship
Fund. Rob was a buddy of mine in high school, we graduated
in 1968. He was a unique, fun loving human being,” said David
Hvolbeck.

Greenwich High School Graduation is scheduled for June 18.
