The Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich held a tag sale today in their clubhouse parking garage. Donations of toys, books, sporting goods, home decor and more were priced to sell as every dollar collected went back to the club.

Keara Funck is on the Boys and Girls Club comity that organized the tag sale.

“We’re having the Great Greenwich Tag Sale trying to raise some money for the Boys & Girls Club. We set up 10 to 12 tables of items to sell. We had a great showing this morning, people were on like 45 minutes before we opened, we sold a lot of good things and raise a lot of money,” said Kera Funck.

Boys and Girls Club C.E.O Bobby Walker Jr. was enthusiastic about the event and items for sale.

“It’s a great sale. People have had a great time and picked up some great bargains. I’ve seen people walking away with furniture and sporting goods. There’s definitely a lot of good stuff people can get. Most importantly, I would hope people would come out
to help support a phenomenal cause to help the kids who come to our club,” said Bobby Walker Jr.

Megan Galletta was one of many who came out to show her support today.

“I thought it was nice, the Boys & Girls Club is a great community organization, it’s just nice to come out and support them,” Megan Galletta said.

Those involved with the fundraiser could see the impact and the effort made by everyone in the community.

“Working corporate America we do a lot of fundraising on a regular basis and this is really the first time I feel like there’s a lot of heart and a lot of passion. The kids are involved, the parents are involved and we have a lot of local high school kids helping out. It’s the first one that it’s really all about the heat,” Funck said.
