A Chickahominy favorite is back at Hamilton Avenue School.
The 4th Annual Spring-A-Palooza fair celebrated the end of the school year & kicked off their 100th Anniversary.
Hamilton Avenue School PTA President Catherine Fiorito-Brunetti said. “It’s a great family event. We have parents, students, alumni, teachers past and present come by. It’s just a great event for everyone to enjoy”
Spring-A-Palooza included old fashioned carnival games, a dunk tank & activities for the entire community.
“100 years in the neighborhood and in the community is just amazing. To think that this school has been here for 100 years is incredible. My husband went to this school and part of his family went to the school, so it is just so generational and fun. All good things are in store for Hamilton Avenue this year,” said parent volunteer Lisa Smith.
“It feels good to come here and volunteer and play games and win,” said Mario, a 3rd grader at Hamilton Avenue.
Proceeds from raffles supported Hamilton Avenue School programs such as cultural enrichment activities and field trips.
“It is quite a landmark. It has been an important part of the community. Generations of residents have gone through here and they are now seeing the 3rd and 4th generation of some families here. Personally my grandparents and parents attended Hamilton Avenue School and so it is really great to see the spirit and legacy of Hamilton Avenue carry on,”  said First Selectman Peter Tesei
“I like all the events and teachers here,” said Sophia, a 5th grader at Hamilton Avenue.
“It is very important to me because I have been here since pre-K,” said Christina, a 4th grader at Hamilton Avenue.
The school will continue the 100th Anniversary celebrations in September.
