Greenwich Hospital has just announced the appointment of Norman Roth
as President.

“I’m very fortunate to be at Greenwich Hospital. I’ve been in the
Yale-New Haven Health System for 36 years,” said Roth.

Roth spent the first 31 years of his career at Yale New Haven Hospital.

“One of the capstones of my career there was being the planner, builder,
and project executive of the Smilow Cancer Hospital. It opened in 2010
and really enabled Yale- New Haven to offer the whole Smilow Cancer
service throughout the whole state,” said Roth.

He became Chief Operating Officer at Bridgeport Hospital in 2011. Three
years later Roth became interim COO of Greenwich Hospital, and then
interim CEO and president in January of this year.

“Greenwich Hospital is known for an outstanding patient experience. We
consistently score int he 95 percentile of all hospitals in the United
States in patient satisfaction,” said Roth.

Roth says the future holds many great things for Greenwich Hospital such
as expanding the cardiology, oncology, and surgical departments.

“Developing these expanded services and specialties compliments the
outstanding physicians we already have here in Greenwich. It will help
the citizens of Greenwich and the surrounding communities get that care
right here instead of having to go to New York to New Haven,” said Roth.

The hospital sees well over 200,000 patients per year through its in-patient,
out-patient, and emergency services.

“A rising tide raises all boats. The success of Greenwich Hospital hopefully
will result in success for physicians and vice vera,” said Roth.

The new president also says Greenwich Hospital is working on developing
stronger relationships with neighboring communities such as Stamford and
Westchester.
