The Greenwich Farmer’s Market is Back

Saturday might have been a gloomy day, but that didn’t stop
customers from enjoying opening day at the Greenwich Farmer’s
Market.

“The Farmer’s Market has been in existence in Greenwich for
over 20 years,” said Market Master Judy Waldeyer.

Every product in the market is Connecticut grown- from the
flowers, to the vegetables, to the clams.

“We have state certified grounds in Milford. We don’t keep
anything longer than three days. We are able to plant it back
in the water and get fresh all the time,” said Laurie Popadic
of Pepe’s Cream of the Crop.

Some vendors have been selling at the Farmer’s Market for
over 10 years, like Roses for Autism.

“The program brings in students on the autistic spectrum and
they work on the farm in various aspects,” said Debbie
Steele of Roses for Autism.

And the vendors say they keep coming back because they love their
customers.

“We have a consistent, very, very loyal group of customers who
come from West Chester, Stamford, and Greenwich,” said Waldeyer.

“I love the people and I want people to have fresh product,” said
Popadic.

The Farmer’s Market is held every Saturday, rain or shine, from
9:30- 1 in the Commuter Parking lot at the corner of Arch St.
and Horseback Lane.
