Greenwich Boys Lacrosse Stuns DHS, 12-11

Greenwich High School’s Michael Sands works the ball past his Darien defender during Saturday’s game against perennial power Darien High School. In the game, Big Red scored twice in the final 11 seconds to tie the Blue Wave and again in OT to claim the victory. With four seconds left in regulation, Decker Curran found the back of the net to tie the game at 11 and he struck again in overtime, scoring the game-winning goal. Curran finished the day with three goals, as did Montana Larson and Will Perry. Sands added two goals and two assists, while Scooter Harrington rounded out the scoring with a goal. In net, Tommy Rogan led the way for Big Red with 13 saves. With the win, GHS upped its record to 10-0 in the FCIAC and 12-3 overall. (Avery Belicka photo
