The month of May marks the return of Art to the Avenue in downtown
Greenwich.

“We have 135 artists and about 99 stores and restaurants participating,”
said Leah Marmon, the Chairman of Arts to the Avenue.

“It really is a strolling art gallery,” said Paul Master-Karnik, the
Executive Director of the Greenwich Arts Council.

There are paintings, photos, canvases and much more brighting up
the stores of Greenwich Avenue and all of it is for sale.

“This is a picture I took in my garden of an Iris, and then I put
a filter on it which gave it the dots,” said Andre Lanoux.

“It was just so beautiful and so vibrant. You could look at these
paintings for hours and you will keep seeing more and more things
in them,” said Lesley Schless of Shipman and Goodwin.

Art to the Avenue is organized by the Greenwich Arts Council
“Our mission is to encourage artists and to build audiences for the
arts, not just here in Greenwich but the surrounding communities as
well,” said Master-Karnik.

Organizers say Art to the Avenue is truly a community engaging event.

“All ages, all different walks of life. It brings everyone into the
Town which is great for the business,” said Schless.

“It’s a whole coming together of the greenwich Downtown area,” said
Master-Karnik.

“I’m so happy to be here,” said Lanoux.

Participating stores are marked with balloons and the event runs
through May 29.
